Scooby Dooz Safety Rules

Please read the information and follow our simple steps upon entering the day care.

Although our dogs are all carefully assessed and are usually of no risk to people, new people coming into the day care can cause disruption amongst the dogs and a battle of hierarchy to begin.

Please remember that when entering the day care you are also entering a pack of dogs. These dogs have a specific order in place and it is important to treat them accordingly.

Simple rules to remember upon entering;

1. Upon entering the day care please pay no attention to the dogs. Do not make eye contact and do not approach them.

2. It is normal for the dogs to smell you and want to find out who you are. If they jump on you, this is testing your boundary. Place a hand and push them down without saying anything or making eye contact.

3. Spend a few minutes in the day care just standing and remaining calm until the pack has made sure they are comfortable. Everyone will quieten down and carry on with what they are doing.

Things to remember while remaining in the environment;

1. Please follow anything the staff ask you to do

2. Should a disruption break out amongst the dogs, please stand to the side of the room and let the staff deal with the incident (this rarely occurs but if ever it does if you intervene there is a risk of being bitten)

3. Whilst in the grooming room it is important to remain calm and quiet. Dogs being groomed need to feel comfortable and happy with the environment and people in it. Groomers are using scissors and blades so it is important the dogs remain as still as possible.
